The last Inspired Unreality of the year is on Saturday, December 3, at 11:00 AM Central. We will be discussing Fantasy and Science Fiction. We've got opinions and we hope you do too. I just finished "Harrow The Ninth" by Tamsyn Muir and now I'm in the middle of "This Is How You Lose the Time War" by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. We are making viewing arrangements for the new "Willow" series. We're all big "Willow" fans, here.

Inspired Unreality open game chat is held in the gamerplus chatrooms at Tenkar's Tavern on Discord. There's more info and a link here.

FollowMeAndDie posted a video and a blog.

"In my latest blog post I discuss the Saint Mark Turnip Festival invented by my players."

https://gamerplus.org/newsfeed/4962

"My Latest YouTube Video: Mastodon For New Users - Twitter Refugees is live on YouTube."

https://gamerplus.org/newsfeed/4961

I post my Mastodon link at the bottom of every Gamer+ news.

My daughter Megan has been giving me advice on new Fantasy and Science Fiction novels. She says, "Readers are the best people because they see the world through many sets of eyes. They know both that their experiences are not unique and that no one sees the world in quite the same way as them."

And I posted the video of Hairy Larry and The Flying Hungarians live at Blues Fest, 2022.

Well ... Caper has a sketchbook. Full of mushrooms from the shire. Some of the sketches are annotated in an arcane language called English Script. Join us at Inspired Unreality as we decipher Caper's sketchbook.

Bring your own topic. All gaming is on topic. We've been enjoying our explorations of Tobbins Shire and personally, I really dig Caper's sketchbook.

Inspired Unreality is held on the first and third Saturdays each month except coming up in November and December we're on Holiday hours, first Saturday only.

Caper's sketchbook was actually drawn across 42 years by a female mycologist named M. F. Lewis. Now public domain.

Blues Fest was a blast with Hairy Larry and The Flying Hungarians opening the festival. We had more than a few of us who are Related To Geeks on stage and several guests as well.

I added an audio player to my Creative Commons Jazz library and it made all the difference. It's handy being able to enqueu and play entire albums.

As always, changes are afoot.

When we started doing Inspired Unreality open game chat every week we were younger. And yet, somehow, even though we're retired, we now have more responsibilities. So we're going to have to scale back.

Instead of weekly we are moving to twice a month. On the first Saturday we will discuss fantasy and science fiction. On the third Saturday we will continue questing in Milyagon or Tobbins Shire.

So, tomorrow is the third Saturday and we will be questing. Please join us to play or just stop on by to say hi and chat for a few minutes. We're always glad to hear from you.

Inspired Unreality is held in the gamerplus chat rooms at Tenkar's Tavern on Discord. There's more info and a link here.

Eclectic Geekery has changed their hours. And, starting in November they will have Holiday hours and be open every day except Monday.

https://eclecticgeekery.com/

You may have noticed that they are opening on Saturdays at noon now instead of 10:00 AM. So, Inspired Unreality will no longer be hosted at Eclectic Geekery for our quests.

We will, however, do other projects with them in the future. What exactly that will be, we shall see. Our daughters run the store and I am committed to resuming our visits after the current surge dies down.

FollowMeAndDie posted about the Gateway To Adventure Trilogy For Old-School Essentials Kickstarter.

And Blues Fest is back. On October 9 at the Craighead Forest Bandshell my friend Doug Butler is continuing the Blues Fest tradition. We don't have a full schedule yet but I will be playing chill jazz piano as well as with my family band, Hairy Larry and The Flying Hungarians. I will post the full schedule and more details in the next Gamer+ News.

Which will be in two weeks. Because Gamer+ News is going on a twice a month schedule too. We will continue to remind you of Inspired Unreality on the Friday before we gather together to chat and play. So, see you there. Saturday September 17, at 11:00 AM. This is your reminder.

Doug Butler works at Craighead Forest Park and he's a musician. When I went to Guerilla Livestream Craighead Forest Lake he talked to me about restarting Blues Fest. We've talked a couple of times since then  and it looks like we're going to have Blues Fest in October. (fingers crossed)

It's still in the planning stages and we don't have a firm date or band list yet but Doug's band is going to play, I'll be opening, playing chill jazz piano, and, hopefully, a couple more acts will fill out an afternoon of music.

I am helping but this is Doug's project. I think it's great. I've been playing at the bandshell but I've missed Blues Fest. Vivian and I are just to old to put on that kind of show anymore but you know I will be helping out however I can.

More details to come in the next Delta Boogie Newsletter and on Delta Boogie.

Even though I graduated last December with my second degree I'm back in school again taking composition lessons. I am rehearsing for a jazz recital where I will play five of my songs with Bebop Beatniks.

Here's a link to me livestreaming my recital repertoire.

https://youtu.be/kjVh_VR7vPo

I wrote two woodwind quintets last term and I am working on getting them read, rehearsed, and performed. Maybe by The Howling Winds, a student woodwind quintet with a bari sax instead of a bassoon. That will take a slight rewrite.

And the composition studio is writing for the trombone studio this term so I'm going to arrange "Bunnies" for a jazz band with a trombone front line.

All of this is really exciting to me.

Please let me know what you've been doing, musically or otherwise.

Thanks,
Hairy Larry
