Yesterday was Mothers Day and my granddaughter's birthday so the Related To Geeks crew spent the day in virtual visits and sharing special videos while we all stayed home. It was great. Not as good as it should have been but still, great.

Our favorite blogger and podcaster, FollowMeAndDie, has been doing everything he can to stay healthy during the pandemic only to discover that he has cancer. He discussed revising his plans on his podcast and blog. Please check in with him. All prayers that he will be fine. Best to you, brother.

On Easter Sunday the Related To Geeks family had a game day on Megan's Discord, Megantopia. We did some crafts and played drawing games and word games on Jackbox. This was my first experience playing on Jackbox and Discord. As soon as I realized the game played on both screens at the same time everything was copacetic. I mean, I still lost every game but I wasn't completely confused while losing every game.

Have you been picking up your online game play during the lockdown? What are your favorite online gaming platforms? Post your game plans on Gamer+ and I will include them in this newsletter.

Gamer+ News December 23, 2019

It's not Christmas Eve but it's close. So for our Inspired Unreality open game chat tonight the initial topic will be games as gifts. Inspired Unreality is held in the gamerplus chatrooms at Tenkar 's Tavern on Discord.

In a very special review ZDL covers 1PG/Hero Force and then she discusses RobboG's supplement, "Hero Force Giant Size Super Special" including Victory City. So we have a Gamer+ gamer reviewing a supplement written by a Gamer+ gamer.

Here's the review.

And here's a link to GSSS at Drive Thru RPG.

Starting January 20 we will be hosting the Related To Geeks Book Club. Our first book will be "The Tower Of The Elephant" by Robert E. Howard, one of the first Conan adventures.

Here's a link to our schedule for January, February, March, 2020.

So ... Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Inspired Unreality tonight at 9:00 PM Central Time! Inspired Unreality is an open game chat held in the gamerplus chatrooms at Tenkar's Tavern on Discord. Voice and text chat. The starting topic for tonight will be party games.

The NEA Gamers Guild had their last Library Game Day yesterday followed by a Christmas party where they ... played games. Including a dirty santa gift exchange where you rolled a D6 and read your action from a table. Needless to say various strategies were employed.

We have big plans for the New Year including the Related To Geeks Book Club where we will read Fantasy and Science Fiction novels and novelettes and discuss them in the gamerplus chatrooms at Tenkar's Tavern on the third Monday of each month (except we will take November and December off). If you want to read ahead for January our first selection is The Tower Of The Elephant by Robert E. Howard. Here's a link to the text.

It is also available as an audio book on Youtube.

Our book for February will be "Little Brother" by Corey Doctorow and then in March we will read "The Ocean at the End of the Lane" by Neil Gaiman.

If you are interested in the Related To Geeks Book Club we have a group for that.

RobboG is also setting up a regular actual play group on Thursday nights that will be recorded as an If You Play You Win podcast. So if you miss the good old days when your party adventured in a weekly campaign let me know. We have three people now. We need four or five in our core group, and then, of course, we will welcome anyone who can only jump in for a night at a time.

Please welcome ZDL into her role as moderator on Gamer+. She volunteered to help me squash the bots and she has also been one of our most consistent posters covering everything from Chinese card games to her book in progress, Reviews From The Fringe. She is friendly and helpful and perfect for the job.

Looking for that perfect yet inexpensive gift for that special gamer you know? Give them a membership to Gamer+. It's free and it lasts all year.

Are you a creator? Don't forget about the Gamer+ gift to you. Free advertising. Interested? Contact me for details.
