Tonight at 9:00 PM Central the Related To Geeks Book Club will discuss
"Warbreaker" by Brandon Sanderson. The book is licensed Creative Commons
and can be legally downloaded here.

The Related To Geeks Book Club is part of our Inspired Unreality open
game chat held every Monday night in the gamerplus chatrooms at

there's an invite for you here.

Megan, Vivian, and I were joined by Alan of Chronicles Of Ember fame

genre, literature and movies. We also spent a little time on podcast and
vlog production. Plus, of course, dad jokes and other miscellany.

I talk about my recent Point Crawl-Like Session Planning. This is my
blog's eleventh anniversary post!"

I've been doing some coding on one of my not game projects, MixRemix

Memorial Day. Tonight on Inspired Unreality open game chat we will be remembering the dead. Player characters you have played that have died.
Join us in the gamerplus chatrooms at Tenkar's Tavern on Discord.

Next week will be June so we will be having the Related To Geeks Podcast.

Speaking of podcasts Carl turned me on to the latest Save Or Die episode, The Myth Of Old School Exceptionalism.

FollowMeAndDie says "10 episodes of my podcast have passed 100 plays each. I have more than that that are close to 100 plays." and he invites you to listen. You could be the one hundredth listener.

And the first episode of the Related To Geeks Book Club is up on Anchor. Megan, Larry, and Datum discuss "The Tower Of The Elephant" by Robert E. Howard.

In case you're not getting the big picture here, ZDL started the Tabletop Inspiration group "for sharing pictures that can inspire ideas for places and characters in tabletop role-playing games.  Come share your most inspiring images, with or without commentary as you see fit!"

I added some public domain artwork from The Violet Fairy Book. Please share images that have inspired you in your role playing.

What gaming have you been doing lately? Let us know. Send me links or post on Gamer+ and I will include you in this newsletter.

And come tonight to Inspired Unreality to remember player characters passed.

It's not Christmas Eve but it's close. So for our Inspired Unreality open game chat tonight the initial topic will be games as gifts. Inspired Unreality is held in the gamerplus chatrooms at Tenkar 's Tavern on Discord.

In a very special review ZDL covers 1PG/Hero Force and then she discusses RobboG's supplement, "Hero Force Giant Size Super Special" including Victory City. So we have a Gamer+ gamer reviewing a supplement written by a Gamer+ gamer.

Here's the review.

And here's a link to GSSS at Drive Thru RPG.

Starting January 20 we will be hosting the Related To Geeks Book Club. Our first book will be "The Tower Of The Elephant" by Robert E. Howard, one of the first Conan adventures.

Here's a link to our schedule for January, February, March, 2020.

So ... Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Inspired Unreality tonight at 9:00 PM Central Time! Inspired Unreality is an open game chat held in the gamerplus chatrooms at Tenkar's Tavern on Discord. Voice and text chat. The starting topic for tonight will be party games.

The NEA Gamers Guild had their last Library Game Day yesterday followed by a Christmas party where they ... played games. Including a dirty santa gift exchange where you rolled a D6 and read your action from a table. Needless to say various strategies were employed.

We have big plans for the New Year including the Related To Geeks Book Club where we will read Fantasy and Science Fiction novels and novelettes and discuss them in the gamerplus chatrooms at Tenkar's Tavern on the third Monday of each month (except we will take November and December off). If you want to read ahead for January our first selection is The Tower Of The Elephant by Robert E. Howard. Here's a link to the text.

It is also available as an audio book on Youtube.

Our book for February will be "Little Brother" by Corey Doctorow and then in March we will read "The Ocean at the End of the Lane" by Neil Gaiman.

If you are interested in the Related To Geeks Book Club we have a group for that.

RobboG is also setting up a regular actual play group on Thursday nights that will be recorded as an If You Play You Win podcast. So if you miss the good old days when your party adventured in a weekly campaign let me know. We have three people now. We need four or five in our core group, and then, of course, we will welcome anyone who can only jump in for a night at a time.

Please welcome ZDL into her role as moderator on Gamer+. She volunteered to help me squash the bots and she has also been one of our most consistent posters covering everything from Chinese card games to her book in progress, Reviews From The Fringe. She is friendly and helpful and perfect for the job.

Looking for that perfect yet inexpensive gift for that special gamer you know? Give them a membership to Gamer+. It's free and it lasts all year.

Gamer+ News December 9, 2019

After we recorded the Related To Geeks Podcast last Monday Vivian (sound on Gamer+) fell in the house and broke her knee. So we both got to spend the week at the hospital in Memphis. And the Related To Geeks podcast is still in the can. It's a good one. It just hasn't been posted yet.

I used my phone in the hospital to visit Gamer+ and there are some serious shortcomings to the mobile app. Especially in Blogs and Groups. Fortunately we use open source software so it is possible to address these shortcomings.

Meanwhile ...

ZDL continues to write her Fringe Reviews book.

FollowMeAndDie is back from UCon.

I bet you didn't know you are eligible for free advertising on Gamer+.

And we will have Inspired Unreality open game chat tonight at 9:00 PM Central in the gamerplus chatrooms at Tenkar's Tavern on Discord.

Spread the word. Invite your friends, and stay in touch.

Advertise on Gamer+

Gamer+ offers free advertising with every account. That's right, if you or your company have a Gamer+ profile you are eligible for free advertising. The ads include a text link at the top of our pages and a banner ad in our footers. The free ads will link to your Gamer+ profile.

The advantage of having the ad link to your profile is that you can post your new product or your upcoming event right at the top of your profile. You control the content on your portal on Gamer+ that links to your game stuff.

Now for the small print. The free ads must relate to gaming. We are a social network for gamers and our first priority is that all of our content, ads included, is on topic.

We also sell ads for $5.00 per month or $50 per year. These ads can link directly to your website, podcast, or convention schedule. These ads also have to be about gaming.

Ok, what do we need to run your ad? We need a banner not larger than 960x160 pixels. We would prefer using your account name in your text link so that Gamer+ gamers recognise you. Other text is ok, though, so if you would prefer custom text we will need that. If you already have a Gamer+ account but you would prefer to link your ads to a company account it's fine to set up an account for your company. Let us know you want to link to your company profile.

You can contact me at my Gamer+ profile or by email.
