Doug Butler works at Craighead Forest Park and he's a musician. When I went to Guerilla Livestream Craighead Forest Lake he talked to me about restarting Blues Fest. We've talked a couple of times since then  and it looks like we're going to have Blues Fest in October. (fingers crossed)

It's still in the planning stages and we don't have a firm date or band list yet but Doug's band is going to play, I'll be opening, playing chill jazz piano, and, hopefully, a couple more acts will fill out an afternoon of music.

I am helping but this is Doug's project. I think it's great. I've been playing at the bandshell but I've missed Blues Fest. Vivian and I are just to old to put on that kind of show anymore but you know I will be helping out however I can.

More details to come in the next Delta Boogie Newsletter and on Delta Boogie.

Even though I graduated last December with my second degree I'm back in school again taking composition lessons. I am rehearsing for a jazz recital where I will play five of my songs with Bebop Beatniks.

Here's a link to me livestreaming my recital repertoire.

I wrote two woodwind quintets last term and I am working on getting them read, rehearsed, and performed. Maybe by The Howling Winds, a student woodwind quintet with a bari sax instead of a bassoon. That will take a slight rewrite.

And the composition studio is writing for the trombone studio this term so I'm going to arrange "Bunnies" for a jazz band with a trombone front line.

All of this is really exciting to me.

Please let me know what you've been doing, musically or otherwise.

FollowMeAndDie posted Episode 179 - Space Battle In Stars Without Number.

He says "In last night's session of the Stars Without Number campaign, A Plague of Angels, we had more of the combat that started the session before. I got to roll for shots by allied & friendly NPC ships VS. enemy ships and I rolled a ridiculous amount of 18, 19, & 20, plus decent damage."

I'm going to leave you with one more link. This is the Gamer+ RSS feed featuring some of the creative work posted by Gamer+ gamers.

Take care and stay well,

TheEvilDM pointed out that email notifications weren't working so I googled around and found out about a cron job that takes care of that and other stuff.

I checked the cron jobs for Gamer+ and sure enough, there it was, trying to run a program on So I changed that to and sure enough, email notifications started working.

So, you might be getting some email notifications. And you might not want to get email notifications.

In the upper right corner there is a dropdown menu with your username on it. Pick My Preferences. Then pick Mail Notifications. You can fine tune which notifications you want to get. This will control the notifications that you get in your Notifications menu, right next to your username in the upper right.

I left these all on because that little Notifications menu helps me keep up with my discussions on Gamer+.

Scroll down to the bottom of that page and you will find a section called, Also send by email.

So you can set it to Immediately if you want to receive an email as soon as someone responds to your post.

You can set it to Never it you would rather not receive notification emails at all.

And in the middle is the wonderful "Automatically (if you don't show up on the site for 2 days)". In other words, don't send me emails if I'm on Gamer+ checking them myself. But if I get busy for a few days I appreciate the reminders.

Additionally on the My Preferences screen there is a General tab where you can set your timezone and subscribe/unsubscribe from the Gamer+ newsletter.  We haven't sent one of these yet but we probably will sometime. In fact a weekly email isn't a bad idea. Think I'll start that today.

So you can turn that off too if you want to.
